History

Colorado State University’s roots go back to 1870, when the institution was founded as the Agricultural College of Colorado. The school opened its doors to students in 1879 with President Elijah Edwards and two faculty members.

Today, Colorado State University has nearly 27,000 undergraduate students. It has approximately 1,550 faculty in eight colleges and 55 academic departments and boasts more than 170,000 alumni.

Accreditation

Colorado State’s business school is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a distinction given to only about 5 percent of the world’s business schools. CSU is also accredited regionally by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges.

Academics

Colorado State University offers more than 25 online and distance graduate degrees.

The school does not offer any undergraduate degree programs online, but it does offer several individual courses.

Admissions

Undergraduate requirements vary by the type of student. Follow the directions on the school website to apply.

Student Resources

To help students in the virtual classroom, Colorado State developed “distance section coordinators.” These working professionals (who have all gone through the master’s degree process themselves) wear many hats. They serve as mentors, sources, class monitors, assignment graders, discussion leaders and faculty assistants to bolster the learning environment.

Along with these coordinators, online students will also have access to the school’s academic advisers and career services team members.

Students enrolled in the online MBA are given an HP notebook.
