Liberty University is a private, nonprofit, Christian learning institution providing associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees at its campus in Lynchburg, Va., and online in such fields as business, counseling, criminal justice, education, nursing and Christian ministry. Liberty University Online’s enrollment has doubled to more than 70,000 students in less than three years.
Liberty was founded in 1971 by the late Dr. Jerry Falwell. The school has grown to 220 residential and online undergraduate programs, 87 residential and online graduate areas of study and six online doctoral programs. Liberty also offers a law school and a Baptist seminary.
Liberty University is regionally accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award degrees at the associate, baccalaureate, master’s, education specialist and doctoral levels.

Liberty University offers degrees at the associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels. At the associate level, Liberty University Online offers degrees in accounting, business administration and business management information systems. At the bachelor’s level, accounting, business administration with nine concentrations and specializations, and business management information systems are offered online. At the master’s level, Liberty offers both a 36- and 45-hour online MBA program with 10 specializations.
Regardless of program, a student’s first step to a degree at Liberty University Online is to submit an official application for admission.
Both undergraduate and graduate students need to provide transcripts of previous education to begin the admissions process at Liberty University Online.
MBA students must submit proof that they have earned a bachelor’s degree with at least a 3.0 GPA from a regionally or nationally accredited university. They must have taken a minimum of 15 hours of upper level undergraduate course work in business. There are also prerequisites for students enrolling in the MBA with an accounting specialization.
